While no horse is free of faults, in order to be a candidate for breeding at Myrewyn a mare must be as perfect as possible.  Not only must they be athletic and beautiful and have correct conformation, they must also have strong feet and they must be friendly and safe.  All our mares are kept barefoot and none require corrective trimming.

Since the purpose of a pony breeding program is to produce safe, sane mounts for children, each of our mares is able to be handled, and in many cases ridden, by children or young teens.  The final criterion for broodmares at Myrewyn is hard to define, but essentially we are crazy in love with every one of these mares.
